What is Meshtastic?
Meshtastic is an open-source, long-range, off-grid communication system that uses LoRa (Long Range Radio) technology to send text messages and GPS locations without cell service, Wi-Fi, or the internet. By connecting inexpensive LoRa devices together, you can create a mesh network — where each device extends the range for others.
It’s perfect for emergency communications, hiking, camping, community events, and situations where traditional networks are down. Messages can be sent directly between devices or through multiple “hops” until they reach their destination. With apps for iOS, Android, and desktop, anyone can join the network with just a small, battery-powered radio.
